Friday

General:
  1. Human Sexuality Forms overdue!  Human Sexuality will begin Monday for the Grade 5s and Tuesday for the Grade 6s.  It will run for approximately 2 weeks.  Parents are encouraged to follow-up with their children at home.
  2. Spring concert info went home today. Please review.
  3. Short week next week. Early dismissal Thursday, May 19th. PD Day Friday, May 20th. No school the following Monday, May 23rd (Victoria Day).
Math:
  1. Metric Me page (including measurements, conversions, and uniform design) overdue.  In order for students to participate in Mini Olympics, students must complete this "entry form". Mini-Olympics will take place early next week. There are still close to a  dozen students who have yet to complete their Metric Me assignments.
Science:
  1. Sky Science title page will be due next Monday.  Students have received approximately 2 hours and were reminded just before home time to bring their title pages home. If students have forgotten their sheets at home, find a blank piece of paper and complete the title page that way.
  2. Here is an updated checklist for "How High Can You Fly?" project.  Students be completed the following by tomorrow:
    • Planning Page
    • Modification for wing shape
    • Building prototype
    • Pre-tradeshow News Article (Rough Draft)
    • Bird Adaptation Modification
    • Pre-tradeshow News Article (Good Copy)
    • Infomercial Planning Page
    • Rough copy of infomercial
    • Good copy of informercial (Typed)
    • By Monday, students should have all their materials ready to begin building their Flying Device.  Mrs. Tam will have a table full of materials on Friday, so that students can see what is available and what they need to bring themselves.
Social:
  1. Green sheets for Iroquois Confederacy Test overdue.
Language Arts
  1. Fractured Fairytales were returned Wednesday.  
  • Room 14 got to keep their stories and can take them home to show parents.  Room 15 got to see their comments and marks, but Mrs. Tam had to take them in because her computer died (a teacher's worst nightmare!) and all her notes have to be re-entered.  They will be returned again next week.
