- Pink Shirt Day next Wednesday. Try to wear a pink shirt, or have any item (e.g. a wristband, headband, etc.) that is pink to wear on that day.
- Early dismissal next Friday, February 26th. School ends at 11 a.m.
- Calgary Reads book exchange: In the library, students will be able to borrow a book from a box, so as long as they donate one for the communal collection. If families have books that they are no longer reading, they are encouraged to bring them in to add to the collection.
Science
- Bring 2L pop bottle.
- During Science today, we went into detail about the parts of a lab write-up - i.e. Problem, hypothesis, etc. Students were shown what a "Level 4" write-up would contain.
Social
- With the de-brief about the Social Studies Ancient Athens project, we did not get to the title page. However, parents/guardians can expect a green sheet to sign today. The sheet is to be returned by Wednesday, February 24th.
- We have completed four government simulations: direct democracy, indirect democracy, dictatorship, and oligarchy.
- We started our round of absolute monarchy today. Ask your child what an absolute monarchy is and how it differs from the constitutional monarchy.
Math
- Math Quiz Thursday; topics were given out today in class. They have also been posted onto our blog (see the previous post).
