Tuesday


  1. Character Day tomorrow: Please come dressed as your favourite character from a book. The outfit must follow the school dress code - e.g. No masks, weapons (fake or otherwise), etc.
  2. Grade 6 Farewell - Afternoon Assembly begins at 1 p.m. Cake and beverages available for 6s and their families afterward. Parents/guardians may sign their children out if the assembly ends before 2:30. Evening event put on and organized by the Farewell Parent Committee and Parent Council will begin at 6 that evening in the gym.
  3. Friday, June 24th:
  • End of Year Assembly - 9:30 a.m. Parents and members of the general school community are welcome.
  • Half-day 
  • Report Cards go home

  1. Grade 6 Farewell is Thursday. 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. If parents/guardians wish, they can sign out their child right after the Farewell is done.

  3. Spirit Day: Wednesday, June 22nd. Character from a book. Please ensure that the school dress code is still followed.

Paperweight Rock

For the art activity later this week, students need a smooth rock, roughly the size of their fist.

Please place a piece of tape with the student's name on it. Due Wednesday.

If there are families that can bring in more than one rock, we would greatly appreciate it.

Any 6s who miss the deadline will have to make their own arrangements to ensure that their option forms make it to SJAM so that students can be placed into their options.

A Message from Ms. Binks and Mr. Sadowsky - Sports Day

On Friday we will be having our Sports Day after lunch. Please make sure that you are wearing appropriate clothing and shoes to be outside all afternoon. Students are encouraged to bring water bottles and hats. If you choose to wear sunscreen please apply it at home in the morning. Some of the stations for Sports Day will include water. Students can choose whether they participate in these stations. They may bring a change of dry clothes for afterwards, otherwise they may come home wet. We are asking that everyone wears Sporty Spunky Socks on Friday.

  1. Spirit Day (fundraising for Fort McMurray) - The school has voted for a Dress Up as Your Favourite Book Character day on June 22nd. Donations will be accepted up until Friday. Students must donate to participate (any amount is welcomed).
  2. Evacuation drill tomorrow.
  3. Grade 6s received a Farewell invitation for the evening events. Please return these by June 6th, 2016 with the student's name on it.

  1. Good copy of comics are due tomorrow. Students will do a self-assessment of their work. Overall, students have done a great job to create their comic strips.

  1. Science tests on Air, Aerodynamics, and Flight were handed back last Friday. Green sheets are now overdue.
